Founded in 1897, the Houston Yacht Club is the oldest yacht club in Texas, sitting on the upper western shore of Galveston Bay near La Porte. Its Spanish-style 1927 clubhouse, nicknamed the Pink Palace, is a Galveston Bay landmark, and the club has hosted many national and international regattas.
