Founded in 1844 aboard the yacht Gimcrack off the Battery, the NYYC is one of the oldest yacht clubs in the United States. It was the keeper of the America's Cup from 1851 to 1983, the longest winning streak in sports history, and runs an active offshore racing and cruising program.
