Fishing in Oregon

Oregon asks boaters to make a choice most states don't offer: ocean, river, or high-desert lake. The Columbia, tracing most of Oregon's northern border, is the state's main artery afloat. Marinas and launch points string from Portland's busy port eastward past Hood River and into the Columbia River Gorge, where the scenery gets dramatic and so does the wind. To the south, the Willamette moves at a gentler pace, winding through farmland and past Salem and Corvallis, served by smaller marinas and public docks. Both rivers suit multi-day cruising: good water, riverside towns, and services close at hand.
