A Go/No-Go boating forecast for your own website.

A link to a weather site leaves every member to read wind, gusts and waves separately and make the call alone. This does the reading for them: one score for the day on your water, the reasons behind it, and the week ahead. Paste one snippet and it rebuilds itself twice a day.

Live conditions score

Today’s Go/No-Go score for your location, or the full seven day forecast. Your choice of three layouts.

Data
Our conditions engine, rebuilt twice a day from Open-Meteo, USGS, NWS and avalanche.org

What it shows

  • Today’s score out of 100 with a plain verdict, so a marginal day reads as marginal
  • Wave height on coastal water, the reading the score weighs most there
  • Sustained wind and gusts, scored separately because gusts are what catch people out
  • A seven day outlook, or a one-line badge if the full card is too much

Who puts it up

Yacht and sailing clubs, power squadrons, marinas, charter and rental fleets, and lake associations.

You do not need a listing with Boating Hubs to use it. If you have one, making it yours is free and lets you fix what visitors see when they click through.

Where to paste it

Squarespace

Edit the page, add a block, choose Code, and paste the snippet in. Leave the block set to HTML.

Wix

Add → Embed Code → Embed HTML, then paste the snippet into the Code box.

WordPress

Add a Custom HTML block and paste it in. In the classic editor, switch to the Text tab first.

Anywhere else, the rule is the same: it goes wherever your editor accepts raw HTML. Paste the whole snippet, including the plain link, which is the part that keeps working if the script is ever blocked.

Questions

Before you paste

Yes. The wave model is built for the ocean, so on a lake or river there is usually no wave reading, and the card scores wind, gusts and temperature instead.

No. It is a quick read on whether the day looks good, built from public forecast models. For a passage, check the official National Weather Service marine forecast and any small craft advisory before you leave the dock.

Open-Meteo’s weather and marine models for wind, gusts, waves and temperature, combined by our own scoring engine. The score is rebuilt twice a day.

It is free, with no account, no API key and no limit on how many people load it. The catch, stated plainly: the snippet includes a visible link back to us, and that link is what the widget costs you. If you would rather not link out, do not use it.

No on both. The script is about 14KB, loads asynchronously so it never blocks your page, and pulls no fonts, frameworks or tracking. It draws inside a shadow root, which is a sealed boundary: your CSS cannot reach in and its CSS cannot leak out.

No. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on the device and sends us no identifiers. It asks for one location’s data and renders the answer.
